Sanger Sequencer - 3730 Series Genetic Analyzers

The Applied Biosystems 3730xl Genetic Analyzer is the highest throughput capillary electrophoresis instrument built for customers who require an economical, automated, and scalable instrument to process large numbers of sequencing or fragment analysis samples. The method of automated DNA Sequencing, utilizes the BigDye Terminator cycle sequencing chemistry from Applied Biosystems (ABI). The samples are sequenced by the 96-capillary 3730xl DNA Analyzer with ABI’s Data collection and Sequence Analysis software.

SAMPLE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

For Sanger Sequencing

Submission Options

Choose your preferred method in the “Sample Submission Form”:

1. RTG Option (Do-It-Yourself) – 20 ILS/reaction

  • You mix the template and primer yourself.
  • Instructions are provided in a separate document titled RTG instruction.
  • We do not perform quantification, analysis, or repeat reactions.

2. Full Service Option – 28 ILS/reaction

  • Submit the template and primers separately.
  • We will handle quantification, mixing, analysis, and repeat runs if needed.

Submission Instructions

  • Print and include the completed “Sample Submission Form”
  • Fill in all personal and sample-specific details.
  • Use one row per template–primer combination.
  • Names must contain only letters, digits, periods (.), or hyphens (-). No spaces allowed.

Sample Labeling

  • Submit primers, templates, or RTG mixes in 1.5 ml Eppendorf tubes.
  • Label each tube clearly with: ▫ Sample name, partial name, or row number ▫ Your personal name on the tube cap

Important: Sequence file names will be based on the names entered in the submission form—not on the tube labels.

Bulk Submissions

  • For multiple RTG mixes or PCR products, you may use: ▫ Clearly labeled strips or 96-well plates
  • Submission order is column-wise: A1 → B1 → … → H1 → A2 → B2 → … → H2, etc.
